Britons have no idea where food comes from – 10 percent think tofu is a mushroom

Millions of Brits have no idea where everyday food comes from – with one in 10 believing tofu is a type of mushroom, according to a study. A clueless 1.3 million adults reckon bacon is sourced from cows while a fifth mistakenly think veal comes from a deer – rather than a calf.
